Meet the Board

Tim, a military veteran and educator for nearly two decades, has studied Bitcoin since 2018. He authored History Echoes Bitcoin, freelance writes for MARA, develops curricula for Operation Bitcoin, and co-hosts the Lincolnland Bitcoin meetup. With expertise in education, curriculum development, and technical problem-solving, he is dedicated to Bitcoin education and community engagement, making him an ideal leader for the Illinois Bitcoin Council.

As an experienced pilot and entrepreneur, Jeff is the new Vice President of the Illinois Bitcoin Council. A Boeing 747 Captain and C-130H3 Instructor Navigator, he brings leadership, global experience, and a background in international business. His passion for innovation and strategic vision will help drive Bitcoin education and adoption across Illinois.

Mark Hurley has joined the Illinois Bitcoin Council as Secretary, bringing a wealth of experience in Bitcoin adoption, blockchain education, and community engagement. In this role, he will support IBC’s mission by fostering collaboration among stakeholders, driving key initiatives, and expanding Bitcoin’s presence across Illinois. His leadership will play a vital role in strengthening the state’s Bitcoin ecosystem through education, advocacy, & strategic partnerships.
