Tim, a military veteran and educator with nearly two decades of experience, has studied Bitcoin since 2018. He authored History Echoes Bitcoin, developed curricula for Operation Bitcoin, and co-hosts the Lincolnland Bitcoin meetup. With expertise in education, curriculum development, and technical problem-solving, he is dedicated to Bitcoin education and community engagement, aligning his interests in his dual role as President and Board Member of the Illinois Bitcoin Council.

As an experienced pilot and entrepreneur, Jeff serves in a dual capacity as Board Member and  Vice President of the Illinois Bitcoin Council. A Boeing 747 Captain and C-130H3 Instructor Navigator, he brings leadership, global experience, and a background in international business. A member of the Bitcoin Veterans, Jeff's passion for innovation and strategic vision will help drive Bitcoin education and adoption across Illinois.

Joe Carlasare, a distinguished Chicago-based commercial litigator and co-chair of Amundsen Davis LLC’s Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, and FinTech practice group, is a valuable addition to the Illinois Bitcoin Council’s Board of Directors. With his extensive legal expertise and valuable Bitcoin insights, Joe is an authority on digital asset regulations. His addition strengthens our mission to advance Bitcoin adoption in Illinois.

Joe Carlasare

Colonel Mark Hurley has joined the Illinois Bitcoin Council as a Board Member, bringing a wealth of experience in military strategy and education on the advancement of AI. He has served as a leader in the 217th Air Communications Squadron, worked on a special joint task force for the Air Force during the COVID-19 response, and acted as a deputy operations director for the 15th Air Force. In his role with the IBC, he will support the council’s mission by fostering collaboration among policymakers, driving key initiatives, and expanding Bitcoin’s presence in Illinois policies.
